Registrars of Voters
The Board of Registrars is responsible for the conduct of all elections and voter registration. It is possible to register to vote by filling out an Affidavit of Registration at the Town Clerk's office or at various outside agencies throughout the Commonwealth (RMV, Unemployment Office, Libraries, etc) In other words, Massachusetts now has voter registration through the mail.
Rockport has three Precincts:
PRECINCT ONE, PIGEON COVE CIRCLE, BREAKWATER AVENUE, NORTH VILLAGE
PRECINCT TWO, ST. MARY'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 24 BROADWAY, SOUTH VILLAGE
PRECINCT THREE, ROCKPORT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, JERDEN'S LANE, SOUTH VILLAGE
At present the voter registration breakdown is as follows:
Precinct One: Democrats 319, Republicans 173, Unenrolled 793, Total 1,288
Precinct Two: Democrats 360, Republicans 242, Unenrolled 1,281, Total 1,786
Precinct Three: Democrats 416, Republicans 320, Unenrolled 1,404, Total 3,378
TOTAL REGISTERED VOTERS: 5,222
